Job Summary

The Pitch Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall readiness of sports pitches and surrounding facilities. This role ensures that playing surfaces meet required standards before, during, and after games or training sessions, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for users.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare sports pitches before matches and training sessions (marking lines, setting up equipment, goals, nets, etc.).
• Maintain pitch cleanliness by removing debris, litter, and hazards.
• Inspect playing surfaces regularly to identify and report damages or safety concerns.
• Assist with basic pitch maintenance tasks such as watering, leveling, and minor repairs.
• Support crowd control and ensure compliance with facility rules during events.
• Assist teams, officials, and coaches with reasonable operational needs.
• Set up and dismantle equipment before and after events.
• Ensure storage areas and equipment are kept clean and organized.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of secondary school education.
• Previous experience in facility maintenance, sports groundskeeping, or a related role is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of sports pitch setup and maintenance.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors for extended periods.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to goods received and goods dispatched including labeling of all stock items
• Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities
• Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
• Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy
• Maintain items record, document necessary information, and utilize reports to project warehouse status
• Identify areas of improvement and establish innovatively or adjust existing work procedures and practices
• Ensure efficient and effective use of Warehouse space to include layout and bins for proper planning

Requirements

• B.Sc. degree, HND in logistics, supply chain management, statistics or business administration
• A minimum of 3 years of work experience in core warehousing, inventory and store keeping
• Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
• Ability to input, retrieve, and analyze data
• Must be analytical and number driven
